This show is devoted mostly to my impressions of the Maryland Timber racing seasons of 2009 and 2010, with a few selections from the Hunts I have followed over that time period. Stiles Colwill has offered me much encouragement and advice, and lent his keen eye for painting and the details of the Equine scene as I have found my way into this subject. There is so much to learn!

My impressionistic style notwithstanding, I have to rely on good draughtsmanship to get the anatomy of the horses to pass muster with a discerning audience, and there are many events of interest to focus on other than the obvious highlights of the races. I have enjoyed observing the individuals, the attire and the poses that characterize the scene.

I find the entire experience fascinating and of such a unique character, that I hope to spend sometime going forward, recording and portraying the things I see that strike me as noteworthy. Look for shows of my work from time to time. I am sure Halcyon House will always have a few paintings available and can help you arrange to see more or plan a commission.
